Stoney Creek 4 or 10 Mile Run A brisk 15 to 25 mile wind along with a temperature of 35 degrees at the start time of 8:30 am greeted 24 “gals and guys” as they journeyed onto the old railroad bed and into the pristine wilderness of Stoney Creek. Since I had done a little home work into the past times for this century and had results posted on the side of the van, I discovered that Frank Leiter was the only runner to go under the hour for 10 miles. Apparently Tadd Morris took notice to this fact because after the run got under way it took me until just past the 4 mile point (on my bike) to catch up with Tadd. “PHEW”!!! At the turn around his time was 30:50 but the hard part lay ahead as a head wind offset the slight downhill grade of the railroad bed. Tadd finished in what I found to be his best time this century in 61:01 or 30:11 for the return trip. Last October he ran a 63:15. Susie Kramer was the first woman in 75:31. 5 women did the 10 miler with Mary Alice McClintock completing her first ever 10 miler. 4 Mile Results 2. Brad Colwell 34:48 3. Chris Gipe 37:17 4.
