On a brisk, sunny, and breezy
morning a passel of 29 runners showed up for the inaugural
Laurel Hills five mile loop. The emphasis was on hills as there
were challenging ones at the start and the finish of the run. In
between, there were rolling ones. All appeared to enjoy the run
despite the fluctuations in altitude. For those runners who were
aching afterwards, Ed Lonski,
licensed massage therapist, administered free massages to the
willing. First runners in were Gary
Grobman and Gordon Kaslusky
who overcame the G forces to post a sub seven time of
33:45. Scott Morgan finished third at 34:24.
Diane Gutshall led the women with a
gutsy time of 39:17 followed by Susan
Seeley at 42:00 even and Kristin
Williams at 44:42. All in all a perfect day for a run. My
thanks to Charley Laverty who
assisted me with the timing and to Carol
and Elena Crupi for providing refreshments along the way.
