Experience narrowly prevailed over youth as 39-year-old Tadd Morris edged out 26-year-old Tom Lin in todays Winter Series #2. A flat course and great weather led to fast times for race #2 in HARRCs Winter Series. It was a close race to call from the finish line as Tadd crossed the finish line in 17:23 followed by Tom in 17:24. Rounding out the top three was Jim Smiley in 18:15. Taking the gold for the women (well, actually a trophy and fleece blanket) was Elaine Grimwood in a speedy 23:29. Close behind was Jodi Narel in 23:51 followed by Masters runner, Yvonne Lodovici, in 25:05. Runners warmed-up with great gourmet coffee generously donated by the Cornerstone Coffeehouse. Carb-replacement consisted of fruit, bagels, and Dunkin Donuts. Thanks to Deb Donahue, executive director of DVS, for providing us with the post-race refreshments as well as random prizes. A special thanks to long-time HARRC member, Gary Grobman, for generously donating the overall-winner trophies and age-group awards. HARRC is blessed to have so many people, like Gary, who give of their time and talents for our events. Thanks to all runners for their generous donations to benefit Domestic Violence Services of Cumberland and Perry Counties. So far youve given over $500 for the first two races! We look forward to seeing everyone again on 2/10/07 for race #3! Todays fun facts: .Once again we were blessed with great running weather with a race time temp of 48 degrees, cloudy skies, and 5MPH wind . Carl Spangler added two more races since we last saw him with todays event bringing him to #776 .thanks to Frank Crupi for being such a good sport ..welcome to the Earley family as new HARRC members todays furthest-traveler award goes to Nicodemo Ricci from Mount Laurel, New Jersey .we promise to let finish-line timer, Walt Greene, in on the location of race #3.
