Winter Series Athletes sets a 'PR' with $1000 donation to DVS of Cumberland and Perry Counties!

With brisk cross-winds that are never “at your back”,   35-year old Frank Leiter led 45 tenacious athletes on today’s loop course.   Frank improved his time by ten seconds over last month’s race, despite more adverse conditions.  Tom Lin took second in 17:36 while Masters’ runner, Lynn Danner, captured third with 18:48.

Lynn’s daughter, Bridget, took first for the ladies with 20:13.  Bridget was overall female for race #1 in November.   It was a close race for second as Chrissy Halpert (25:06) edged-out veteran runner/triathlete, Vickie Smith (25:07) by one second. 

Award-winners received : (male) fleece gloves, fleece blankets, and (female) silver pendants with scent diffusers or candles.   Random prizes were then distributed.  Everyone then departed home to warm-up and think about those days when all we need to run in are shorts and a singlet…. 

Thanks to all runners who participated in this year’s series!  Through your generous donations, a $1000.00 donation was presented to DVS of Cumberland and Perry Counties.  This has been our highest donation thus far.  Through their safe environment, DVS provides physical, emotional, and financial support to women and children in Cumberland and Perry Counties.
