                            Italian Lake 3 or 6 Mile Run

There was a great turnout today for the first race of 2008 - Runner’s Choice – 3 mile or 6 mile – at Italian Lake.  A lot of people must have made a New Year’s resolution to run more because we had more people than I can recall in recent history, including at least 10 new people and a few more “second-timers.”  I hope these folks continue to turn out because you know what they say, “The more, the merrier!”  The weather participated as the day was calm with temperatures approaching 40 deg F, very nice for January.  I hope I got all the names and times right.

Tadd Morris far outran the field with a 3-mile time of 17:41. He was followed by the trio of John Cherry (18:48),  Becki McClintock (first female, 18:51), and Miguel Goodpasture (18:54).  Christy Hartman and Danielle Panpuccio were the second and third female finishers.

Ed Gamber and Gary Grobman finished the 6-mile together at 41:00, far ahead of the rest of the pack.  Mike Cover was third for the guys.  Kelly Krutz was the first female finisher at 50:05, with Elvira Brent and Patty Parker second and third.  The complete results follow.
