It started out as a cool, damp morning on June 3, when all of a sudden
the sun popped out and made for great conditions on a new trail starting
from Derry Street, going up the Greenbelt, around the Civil War Museum,
and back. Twenty-one runners had their choice of a leisurely 4 k or
a longer 7k route on this new course. The course was slightly
upgrade for the first half, but it was an easy downhill cruise on the
return trip.
In the 4k, Jim Collins finished first in
18:03, and Pat Thompson was the first female
finisher.
In the 7k, top honors went to Jim Honchar
with a time of 27:23. Frank Leiter was
second, and only eight seconds behind. Licia
White was the first female finisher at 30:25.
