Cabin fever
was looming about with 33 runners (including one four legged friend!)
showing up for the Winding Hill 5 miler.
Don Bergen, formerly of San Antonio,
Texas tore up the challenging course with a 28:35 followed by perennial
speedsters Tadd Morris and Tom
Snedden. Our own
triathelete, Jen Gilbert led all ladies with
an impressive 36:02, followed closely by Dana Burger
and Diane Gutshall. We
welcomed some new faces, including Chris Lucas,
and his 12 year-old son, Joe, who ran an
impressive race. We were also
glad to see Gary Grobman and Ken
Senft back from injury. John
Palks drove the whole way from Maryland to join us on this
spring-like morning. In
addition to the top 3 female and male runners, special awards were given
to the two runners who ran the longest (Robin
Kennedy and Joe Lucas), and the two “middle of the pack”
runners (Chris Gipe and Andy O’Donnell).
