ADAMS-RICCI FIVE MILER

Twelve runners showed up for a somewhat hilly five mile run on the eve of Easter. The course was a slight variation of a club run Mike Garman had directed some time ago beginning at Adams-Ricci Park in East Pennsboro. The path exited the park and wound down Magaro Road, hugged the creek along Oyster Mill Road, returned via Floribunda, and was capped with a hill climb. On this cool Spring morning, runners appeared to start slowly but finished strong. Coming in first was Frank Leiter with a time of 35:34 followed by Ed Gamber and club run stalwart, Tom Snedden. Shawna Brent led the women with a finishing time of 41:09 with Stacey Pietras placing second. I was assisted by my wife and daugther who provided directions to the start and refreshments during and after the run. Charlie Laverty called out the times at the finish line.
