WILDWOOD TRAIL 4 MILE

 

   When the race is listed as 4 miles, measured at 3.7, shortened to 3.5 due to fallen trees, and declared closer to 3.3 by those runners with GPS systems, then you know you must be on a trail.    And it’s a good time of year to hit the trails as everything is beautiful but not yet overgrown.  John Painter was the first harrier in with a time of 24:27.  Frank Leiter, finding the distance 20 miles too short for him, finished second in 24:34.  Ed Gambler rounded out the top three with a 24:49.  Marge Lebo was first woman in a time of 31:39.  And in honor of Mothers day we had a special visit from HARRC’s first mom, long time race director Mary Ann Freund.
