Italian Lake 3 or 10 miles

With Gunnar Kramer as the official "ready-set-goer", 35 runners took on a 3 or 10-mile distance consisting mainly of the mid-portion of the Harrisburg Marathon course. This course was initially created by charter member Nick Marshall.

In the 10 miler, Harrisburg Marathon record-holder Rick Blood, cruised in first place with 1:04:17. Becki McClintock, coming off a 3:03:43 Cleveland Marathon finish, came in second with 1:09:37. Third place was captured by HARRC VP Mike GarmanTom Snedden took first in the 3-miler with 19:47 followed by Saturday morning run coordinator, Jeff White, in 20:49. John Spreha came in third with 21:01. Susie Kramer (with Gunnar) took first for the ladies in 24:25.

Although no fist-fights broke out, there was some question as to the length of the 10-miler. My GPS actually clocked it at 9.8 and Jim Collins was slightly less, but we agreed (over a glass of Gatorade) that everyone could log in 10 miles in their diary and not lose any sleep over it. Jim deemed the 3 mile course as accurate. Those GPS things are both a blessing and a curse.....
