Back by Popular Demand.......2002 HARRC WINTER SERIES
   (It’s cold, it’s fun, and hey, it’s for a good cause!)

Dates:  10 AM January 5, 2002
            10 AM February 9, 2002
            10 AM March 2, 2002

Distance: Series of 5K races sponsored by the Harrisburg Area Road Runners Club
 **ALL donations will go to a Cumberland County Women and Childrens’ Shelter                                                                 
                                                                                             

Start:  New Location:  Wildwood Park!  Park at the pavilion nearest
Linglestown Rd.
Directions:  Cameron St. exit of  I81.  Follow signs toward the
Farm Show  Complex. Turn onto Industrial Road and follow (about 2 mi.) to pavilion on
the right. 

Time: Registration begins at 9:40 AM at the Pavilion nearest Linglestown
Road.   Childrens’ run      at 9:50 AM.  5K race
starts promptly at 10:00 AM.                                  
                                                   
Course:  We can’t lie.  This is a rolling course on a trail and pavement. 
However, the good news is that the trees block most of  (any) wind that day. 
If it snows, the footing may be a little hairy.

Kids Run:  Weather-permitting, there will be a 1/4 mile fun run for children
at 9:50.  No entry fee.  All participants will receive a Hershey Bar and medal.

Entry Fee (Donation):  Two bucks for each event.   All monies donated go to
an emergency domestic violence shelter program for women and children.  Facility located
in Cumberland County.

Inclement Weather:  We’re a hearty group, but call 770-2231 for cancellation
information. This race series is intended as low-key events to help you maintain that
competitive form over those long winter days.  We will not be providing shirts or awards, but
we will have: Hot food after the race (either coffee/cookies, soup, or pizza; maybe all
three.  Don’t know yet -depends on how busy the race director is that day).
Random prizes immediately following the event (never expensive, but always
appreciated).
An accurately measured & timed event with posted results
Available restrooms (Porta-johns).  No shower facilities, but that means you
get home sooner.

Recreation, the City of Harrisburg.  and all race volunteers, for any damages, injuries, or losses I may suffer
because of this event.  If I hurt myself in any manner during this event, it is my own fault and I will hold no one liable or
responsible for any injury, other than myself.
